Blackburn Vikings Big V Coaching Vacancies


Blackburn Vikings Basketball Association (BVBA) are calling for interested persons in the following Coaching positions:


Assistant Coach: Big V – Division Two Women 

Assistant Coach: Big V – Youth League Two Women

Assistant Coach: Big V – State Championship Men

Assistant Coach: Big V – Victorian Youth Championship Men

Team Manager: Big V – Division Two Women 

Team Manager: Big V – Youth League Two Women

Team Manager: Big V – State Championship Men

Team Manager: Big V – Victorian Youth Championship Men


2018 is set to be a year for the Vikings. Our Senior Men have moved to State Championship Men after two stellar years in Division 1 Men. Our Victorian Youth Championship Men are expected to take another step forward after narrowly missing the finals in 2017 under new coach Glenn Rees.


Our Women’s Program under the watchful eye of former WNBL Coach Peter Buckle made the bold move of promoting a number juniors into our senior program in 2017. This resulted in our Youth League 2 Women reaching the Grand Final while our Division 2 Women also secured a finals spot. Their development is expected to continue in 2018.


The successful applicant(s) will report to the Head Coach of their respective teams, as well as the Head Coach of each of our senior programs.


Interested coaches need to meet the following criteria:

  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Weekly attendance at training sessions and games
  • Regular attendance at coaches meetings
  • NCAS Level 1 Accreditation or higher
  • Working with Children Check
  • Adherence to the Basketball Victoria Coaches Code of Conduct
