Venom celebrate 150 pair

The Warrandyte Basketball Association and the wider Big V basketball community wish to congratulate David Moore and Andy Clough on reaching 150 Big V games when they suit up at Chelsea this Saturday night.

David’s Big V career started with the Kilsyth Cobras playing in the youth competition. After stepping up into SEABL, David made his return to Big V with Sherbrooke in State Championship Men in 2013 After three successful seasons with the Suns, David made the move to Warrandyte to be an integral part of the program.

David’s versatility is his best asset to the team. A major scoring threat from the perimeter, yet equally as dangerous down in the post; David is also often given the key defensive match-up and his ability to play both ends is a credit to his work ethic.

David has now become one of the true leaders of the Venom Senior Men’s program. He is highly respected by his teammates and coaches, and we all applaud him on reaching this amazing milestone.

Andy started his Big V career with Warrandyte in 2010 as his career has come full circle. Not only has he seen his development rise over this time, he was also a key member of the Venom's men's promotion from Division 3 in 2010, to Division 2 in 2011, and then to Division 1 in 2012.

In 2013, Andy combined Youth League games with his Division 1 commitments, before accepting an opportunity to further test his skills in State Championship Men with Sherbrooke. Unfortunately, due to the demise of the Sherbrooke men's program at the time, Andy returned to his habitual home in 2016.

Having now established himself as an integral part of the Warrandyte Senior Men’s program, Andy is an offensive weapon from the perimeter, yet can also hurt defenders off the dribble and finish at the basket.

Andy impresses those around him with his attitude and intensity at trainings and games and is a role model to fellow teammates. He works hard at improving his own game, while at the same time pushing and encouraging his teammates to do the same.

We welcome all Warrandyte supporters to join the Division One Men who play their final game of the season at the Warrandyte Sports Complex this Sunday at 2:30pm to congratulate David and Andy on their fantastic achievements.
