Waverley announce coaching panel

The Waverley Basketball Association is pleased to announce their coaching panel for the Big V 2010 season and some recruits.

• Championship Women — Mark Chivers

• Youth League Women — Paul Stirton

• Championship Men — Eric Minerve

• Youth League Men — Simon Giovannoni

Simon Giovannoni joins the Falcons after spending the last two years coaching at the Australian Institute of Sport. Simon is a previous Waverley junior player and junior coach.

General Manager, Mike Bullock said he was thrilled to have Simon back at the Falcons to work with a very good group of young players coming through our program.

Simon will also hold the position of the Waverley Falcons Junior Coaching Director. It is also very pleasing to re appoint Mark, Paul and Eric who did a great job last season for the club.

On the playing front, The Championship Men's team has been joined by experienced and talented players in Vashon Weaver from Latrobe City and Sedale Threatt Jnr from Sandringham. Star players Ivan Platenik and Simon Blennerhassett will continue with the team along with some other players from last seasons roster.

We will also being adding some Youth League players to the squad. We look forward to a tough and challenging year ahead and want desperately to make the finals this coming season.
